WJHS Mission Statement
West Johnston High School will maintain high standards and will foster respect, integrity, and honesty through family, school, and community involvement. Our school faculty will seek to develop students as lifelong learners as well as prepare them to function as successful and responsible contributors to society. We plan to achieve the goals of our school by allowing students every opportunity to learn and insuring that teachers challenge students to the fullest possible extent.

WJHS Media Center Mission Statement
The mission of the West Johnston High School media program is to empower students and staff to become effective and ethical users of ideas and information and to prepare students to be 21st. century problem solvers. This mission is accomplished by:
- Providing access to materials in print, audiovisual, and electronic formats that enrich and support the instructional program of the school.
- Offering instruction on how to access, evaluate, and use information.
- Providing instruction on technology tools and applications.
- Collaborating with teachers to promote the development of information skills, media literacy, and lifelong learning.
